The Surgical Admissions Unit is located on the ground floor of the red block.

What is Surgical Admissions Unit?

The Surgical Admissions Unit is a 20 bedded mixed gender ward that deals with general surgery. Patients are admitted to this ward through the Emergency Department, as planned admissions for surgery and also from other wards. 

Currently the main role of SAU is to cater for surgical patients needing hospital admission needing CovId 19 swabbing. Once the patient’s Covid result is issued, the patient is transferred accordingly.

Meal times

A selection of meals are brought everyday, however, pre- ordering of food is not permissible due to the constant turnover of patients.

Breakfast: 8:00am to 8:30am
Lunch: 11:15am to 11:45am
Dinner: 5.:15pm to 5:45pm

Visiting hours:

Official visiting times are:
Monday to Sunday (including public holidays):
11:30 to 13:00 (2 visitors at any one time)
15:00 to 20:00 (2 visitors at any one time)
Currently There is no visiting times due to Covid restrictions.
