Extension of validity of Schedule V cards and related entitlement documents
Extension of validity of Schedule V cards and related entitlement documents shall remain in effect as of 23rd November 2020 for a further 6 months due to the current COVID-19 outbreak in Malta.
Dispensing will hence be allowed on expired documents for a further period of six months. Patients do not need to visit Consultants or POYC offices for renewal.
The direction above does not apply however to requests for new or change in treatment.
Applications for new or change in treatment can only be processed if submitted:
• Electronically via email address to [email protected]
• For patients in Gozo to [email protected]
• Consultants are encouraged to apply through the online application system CARE
• Requests for Exceptional Medicinal Treatment are to be sent electronically to [email protected]. No hard copies will be accepted.
No scanned applications received via email from patients or pharmacists will be accepted, only from physicians. This is to reduce the possibility of abuse with additions being made after the consultant signs. Such changes may not be visible via scanning and neither community nor Government pharmacists would be able to assess the validity of the application. All hard copy applications that had already been issued are still being accepted by MAS offices. We have procedures in place to limit physical contact. Clients / patients who visit the offices may wish to leave their application/s and any related documents in the letter box or preferably send them by post.
For any further queries or Customer Care service kindly call on 21232424 or 22481800 or send us an email on [email protected].
